Twenty-One Reasons to Celebrate

Behold, unto you will be born a child......Oops, wrong birth.
My daughter Brandy was born September 9th and while we often will lovingly refer to her as "the child from hell" she has been one of the best occurrences in my life. She has shaped much of whom I am, just as I have shaped part of whom she is. Following are a few of the reasons I love and adore her so much (in no particular order):

Contagious rolling laughter when something really amuses you
Beautiful green-blue eyes
Intelligence
Independent
Photographer's Eye
Lunch Dates
Kind Heart
Cynical
Loyal Friend
Great Traveling Partner
Dependable
Creative
Movies on Demand (from your own collection)
Girls Night Out, Baby
Navigational Skills
Quick (and evil) wit-"Stick with the jokes you don't intend to make, Mom"
Conservationinst
Long finger nails (how do you manage that?)
Lovely Smile
Ethical
Political

If you can't stand the heat get out of the BlogSphere

After weeks and weeks of pressure to start my own blog, and after reading several family and friends blogs, I finally broke down, with mucho help from Yar, and started my blog.

Now, I'm getting all this pressure cause I have not added anything since my original posting on July 21st. I guess over a month is pretty bad. My problem is that when I have extra time I really don't want to spend it in front of a computer. I sit in front of a computer all day at work. I would rather be out in the yard putzing around or, kicking back on my lounger watching the birds eat birdseed from the wonderful bird feeder Yar built me. Or, watching the hummingbirds and bees take nectar from the flowers we planted this past spring. Sometimes I talk to family while doing all this, with a drink by my side, Baggins (my cat) resting on the foot portion of the lounger and this is the best.

However, I really do enjoy reading what's going on in everyone elses lives so I've decided to get my act together. Reading someones Blog really can give you insight into what someone is all about, what's important to them, how they think and view life. I really enjoy that window into my nieces lives. So, I'll do a better job and let others view my life in the same way. Besides, this only took 10 minutes (no ITYS from the peanut gallery at home please!) of my lunchtime at work! Ha, maybe that's the way to do this.

Ok, next posting before a week has gone by!

Maybe Older Sisters Really Do Know Something

For as long as I can remember I have enjoyed working in the yard. Growing up it was pretty much yardwork for the boys, housework for the girls (yuck). Since I enjoyed the yardwork I would do that and then cry, "Foul" when I was told to then go inside and do my chores.

The point is that I always enjoyed it, but it became a real liberating experience when my sister, Becky, told me just to plant things in the ground and not worry about it. If the plant doesn't work in an area, dig it up, move it and worse case scenario - pull it out if it dies. Well, that took all the stress out of it and made it much more fun.
